Living Learning Labs on Campus
A Sense of Place
We envision our campus as a pedagogical opportunity for sustainability, that allows us to infuse sustainability across our curriculum and provide applied, real-world sustainability experiences for students. These “living learning labs” merge academics and campus spaces to provide students with real-world skills and, in some cases, a path to help meet our sustainability goals. The College maintains a number of different living learning labs, including the Book & Plow Farm, an expansive Wildlife Sanctuary, a state-of-the-art Science Center, the Mead Art Museum, the Beneski Museum of Natural History, the Emily Dickinson Home, and the Greenway, among many others.
